Sloppy Lentils!

Oh yah, here I go again…..talking about lentils.  But wait!  THIS is gooooood!

I came across this recipe on an awesome mommy blog that I’ve really been enjoying.  She has great, healthy recipes and I haven’t found much she writes about that I disagree with!  Go here to check it out!

I of course had to modify the recipe a little bit, partly because I don’t have access to a few things and…well, because I have rebellion issues when it comes to following recipes.

The ingredients

There it is!

How can a leaf make it look so much more appetizing?

Mmmm....even better!

The finished product! So easy! Boil a few cups of lentils. Cook some chopped onion and very finely chopped mushrroms in some butter. Add a packet of seasoning (or season it yourself) and some tomato pure. Or you could follow the actually recipe from the link above :) Or make your own version of sloppy lentils!

Afternoon with Friends

We are so blessed to have a few other missionary families close to us!  Today the girls and I went to our friends’ house to hang out.  The moms were going to work on some sewing while the kids played.  It was a blessing!

Homemade Butter!

We have a liter of milk delivered to our door every morning by a sweet little old lady who milks the cows herself.  We pay less for this fresh raw milk delivery than we would for store-bought!  I am very thankful for this!  You can read some about the benefits of raw milk here or here.

Yummy, fresh, wholesome, free-of chemicals, free of dyes, all natural, creamy and FREE butter!

This was the hard part---skimming the cream off the top.

I guess it's not an exact art. I was just kind of hoping that I wasn't getting any milk in the cream.

Tuna Cassarole

Not a big hit…..

Who can blame them, really?

Now I know. I'll never make this mistake again. Anyone want any lefover tuna cassarole? How on Earth am I going to get rid of this?

Daily Photo

I have hesitated to jump back into this blog.  Where to begin?  I could tell you all about our trip and bore you with 894 photos….or not.

I think what I’ll do instead is (try to) commit to posting one photo a day.  I’m thinking that I would like it to be a glimpse or a representation—something that says a little something about our day.

A snapshot into the life of a missionary mommy of four!  We’ll see where this goes.

I think I have commitment issues.

This is what we did most of the day since my sweet Gloria was sick.

Look at that sweet face....oh, it just breaks my heart when my babies are sick.
