Ravioli and Tortellini

I really love good pasta.  When we lived state-side it was always a treat to buy a package of gourmet tortellini—mmmm.  Since that is impossible to come by in our little market town in Mexico, I’ve had to improvise!
Actually I never thought of making my own pasta until one night I walked into the mission [...]

This Seems Familiar…

We had two girls very close in age, waited a few years then had two more girls very close in age.  It’s funny how similar number 1 and 3 are to each other and even CRAZIER how similar number 2 and 4 are to each other!  I came across these pictures recently…it’s like deja vu!!

Daddy Date

Chris rotates taking each of our girls out on a daddy date every few weeks or so.  They get so excited for this time with Daddy!  I think it’s so special and so important for our girls to have this time to connect with him.

Yep, I’m still here!

Blogging is a hobby for me.  If a hobby ever begins to feel like an obligation…it has to go bye bye…or at least take a hike for a while.  So there’s the explanation for why I have been absent from the blog world
I’m back to give an update on life.  Here are some [...]

I hate mold.

We drove hard for four days in order to walk into our house in Mexico by about 1am.  Walking in our house for the first time in five weeks was less than pleasant.  The dank air, water stains on the floor where the rain leaked in, mouse poop all over the girls beds….
We plopped the [...]

Place of Peace

I desire that my home be a place of peace for my family and for anyone who enters.
Sometimes I get WAY too focused on the externals.  I want the front room to be tidy and homey and comfortable.  I feel like crumbs on the floor and shoes scattered everywhere and crooked couch blankets just alter [...]

Teacher’s Day

Saturday was Dia del Maestro (Teacher’s Day) here in Mexico.  In the U.S. there is Teacher Appreciation Week which was last week, I believe.  I’m just sharing because it’s not too terribly late in case you want to make a midnight run to Walmart!  I figure if I bring in a little something first thing [...]

Retreat Thoughts part one

This past weekend I had the wonderful privilege of going to a missionary womens’ retreat in the city.
It was great getting to meet other ladies living similar lives as well as just to get out of the house, enjoy some quiet time with the Lord and relax some too.
I feel like I got so filled [...]

Confession

I’m really on a role here.  Not sure why but I just feel like spewing all my problems on the internet so there’s no way for me to go back to pretending everything is fine.  Hopefully it works.
There are so many ways to deal with stress in our lives and I’ve noticed something [...]
