Saturday Treats

This is a picture of all the wonderful things that are delivered to my door every Saturday morning by different people.

Fresh whole wheat tortillas, beautiful lettuce from a sweet lady's garden, homemade cheese, fresh milk from a cow, and some lemon grass. All this cost US 4 dollars!! I will never complain again about the lack of conveniences in my life :)

Saturday is market day in our town and people come from all the surrounding villages to sell their produce or whatever other items.

The wonderful bonus about living in this town is that many come to our door selling!  Having four small children, I consider this such a treat because hauling everyone around town for shopping on market day is not an easy task.

Everything is fresh, homemade and CHEAP!  I know I am so blessed!

  1. So happy for you that amidst all the “challenges” of living foreign you get to have this treat! I have to admit I am a little jealous :) I was just telling someone the other day that if I could have EVERYTHING delivered to me door I would totally do it!

I know you can appreciate this, Charlsie! I think God is just blessing me with things like this so I will survive :) Now if ONLY this would happen in Houston!!! I always figure that’s enough food to live on for the day—even if there is nothing else in the house….we would survive on that so I don’t have to venture out with the kiddos!
