Beach party apples

I found a fun idea in a recipe and modified it. This recipe suggested making baby caramel apples by using the melon baller thingy (is there an official name for that?) and toothpicks then dipping them in caramel or melted chocolate. Instead we made “sand” out of nuts, brown sugar and cinnamon all ground up in the coffee grinder. And of course we used umbrellas instead of boring old toothpicks.
